Notes

1. Kent County Council (KCC) Early Years Funding Scheme. Bronte Nursery participates in KCC’s funding scheme for children aged 3 and 4 years. Under the scheme, parents are entitled to up to 15 hours of funded nursery provision, for 38 weeks per year. Children are eligible from the start of the term after they have attained their third birthday. Fees and Early Years Funding are annualised by the Nursery, funded hours being allocated over the course of the full year, equating to 48.5 hours per calendar month, and fees being the same for each calendar month. Parents should contact the Nursery to check what the fee will be for any additional hours accessed each month. KCC Early Years Funding is applied for by the Nursery on the parents’ behalf.

Free Fully Funded Places – for those seeking fully-funded provision, the Nursery offers such places, based on 15 hours provision, for 3 and 4 year olds. These places are limited and are offered, during term time only, on the afternoons of Mondays and Fridays, and one other afternoon each week, of the parents’ choice (subject to availability). The hours offered for those sessions are 5 hours each from 1pm to 6pm. Further details are available from the Nursery Manager.

2. Childcare Voucher Scheme. The Nursery accepts voucher payments for childcare from most voucher companies, including vouchers from the Government Childcare Tax-free Voucher Scheme. Information on the scheme, and to register, can be found on the GOV.UK website using the following link: http//childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk

3. Deposit. Following the offer of a place, a deposit is payable, receipt of which secures the place. The amount of the deposit is 50% of one month’s fee, or £270.00, whichever is the larger. The deposit is refundable when a child leaves the Nursery, less any outstanding amounts owed. If the place is not taken up, the deposit is not returnable.

4. Basis for Monthly Fee. The monthly rates are structured to allow for the Christmas holiday, bank holidays and absences, and are the same for each calendar month.

5. Fee Payment and Support Arrangements during Periods of Individual Illness or Absence, or of Temporary School Closure.

a. Individual Illness or Absence. If, for an extended period, a child has to be away from the Nursery because of illness or because of family circumstances, such as a defined temporary period spent away from the area, fees remain payable as normal. If the period of absence extends to more than six weeks, the Nursery will liaise with parents concerning the individual situation, and fees payable will be discussed.

The Nursery will seek to maintain contact with the family, and to offer any appropriate support.

b. Temporary Nursery Closure. If the Nursery has to close temporarily because of adverse weather, damage and subsequent repairs to the property, or any other event or circumstance affecting safety or the Nursery’s ability to operate, fees remain payable as normal. If the period of closure extends to more than 15 Nursery days, the Nursery will consider the situation and the level of fees payable.

c.  Covid-related absences or closure (as at January 2021). Without prejudice to sub-paras (a) and (b) above, arrangements during periods of covid-related self-isolation, quarantine or closure are given below. Given the changing nature of the situation and the potential for changes in government policy, the arrangements will be reviewed as necessary.

(i). Individual Absence. If an individual child has to be absent temporarily because he or she has been tested positive for Covid-19 or because a household member has been so tested, or for any covid-related reason, fees remain payable as normal. It is anticipated that such an absence will not last longer than 4 weeks, but if the period of absence has to extend beyond that time, the School will liaise with parents concerning the individual situation, and fees payable will be discussed.

The Nursery will seek to maintain contact with the family, and to offer any appropriate support.

(ii)  Group (“Bubble”) Absence. If a whole group or “bubble” has to be absent for a covid-related reason, fees will not be charged, with effect from the start of the absence.

(iii)  Whole or Substantial Nursery Closure. If all or a substantial part of the Nursery has to close temporarily for a covid-related reason, such as some level of local or national “lockdown”, fees will not be charged, with effect from the start of the absence.

6. Invoices, Payment Date. Invoices are sent out by the start of each month. Fees are payable with cleared funds by noon of the 5th of each month. Parents are provided with monthly statements.

7. Review of Fees. Normally fees are reviewed each April, any changes taking effect in the following September.

8. Other charges.

a. Late Collection. In the event of late collection, after 1.00pm or 6.30pm, there is a charge of £15, plus an additional rate of £5.50 per 15 minutes, or part thereof.

b. Late Payment. In the event of late payment, a charge of £30 is payable for each month of unpaid fees.

9. Notice to Leave. Written notice of at least one calendar month is required, should parents wish to withdraw a child from the Nursery. If such notice is not given, one month’s fees in lieu are payable.
